Karen Nash

Karen Nash, 68, passed away on Christmas Day 2018 after a demeaning bout with Ocular Melanoma which had metastasized from her right eye to various glands in her abdomen. For the past several years she travelled with her husband to Philadelphia to receive medical treatment for this metastasized cancer from Dr. Takami Sato at the Jefferson University Hospital.  Karen was a vibrant and active resident at Regency with her husband Bob.  She was significantly involved in various women’s activities ranging from the Beautification Committee to individual actions including significant physical fitness activities.

Karen was born in Northern New Jersey and has a sister Janice who is currently 5 years her junior. Karen was actively involved in the raising of her husband’s two children from his first wife and their grandchildren.  Karen and Bob were married in excess of 45 years and during that time lived in several states including Florida, Oklahoma, Colorado and Connecticut.  One of their most interesting activities was personally building a house in Breckenridge, Colorado.  They became very interested in skiing while they lived in Breckenridge and were active in both skiing instruction for able and disabled individuals.

During her career as a Registered Nurse, Karen worked in settings including obstetrics, surgical, intraoperative and industrial.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
