Obituary of Valdoris Justice
Deaconess Valdoris Virginia Justice, 90 entered into the realm of eternal rest from St. Mary’s Hospital on May 24, 2020. Deaconess Justice was born June 27, 1929 in Waterbury, CT to the late Elisha and Carolene Watts. She was the devoted wife of the late Deacon Albert Justice. She retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Labor as a Fact Finder. Deaconess Justice was active in numerous religious organizations. She loved the Lord with all her heart and worked tirelessly in the vineyard of the Lord. She was a devoted and dedicated member of the Zion Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Deaconess Board. Deaconess Justice served as president of the Senior Choir, a member of the Adult Mass Choir, and a member of the PTA Committee. She was also diligent in keeping financial record of the weekly tithe and offering envelopes. Deaconess Justice was a faithful member of the Connecticut Baptist Deacon’s Alliance and its Auxiliaries and the National Baptist Deacon’s Alliance and its Auxiliaries. Deaconess Justice was also committed to the fight for social justice. She was a Lifetime Member of the Waterbury Chapter of the NAACP and she served as the Financial Secretary for that NAACP branch. Deaconess Justice leaves to cherish her special memories her son, Bruce Justice of Newport News, VA, five grandchildren; Gloshyla (Yates) Cromartie of Bloomfield, CT, Kuwanna Bobbitt of Cary, NC, Blair Richardson of Newport News, VA, Terrance Robinson of Atlanta, GA, and Donovan Robinson of Newport News, VA; eleven great-grandchildren, her sisters Maxine Watts and Beverly Watts of Waterbury, CT, her brother Harvey Watts of Waterbury, CT, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Gloria (Justice) Lee, her brother Judson Watts, and her sisters; Ledonia Gray and Jeanette Watts. A graveside service will be held on Monday June 1, 2020 at 11:00 am at New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury, Connecticut. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with James R. Sanders Funeral Director. All CDC and DPH regulations of social distancing and masks will be observed.
