Obituary of Patricia Joan (Mellon) Danaher
Patricia Joan Mellon Danaher School & Psychiatric Nurse and loving mother and grandmother PROSPECT – Patricia Joan (Mellon) Danaher, 79, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2020 in the comfort of her home. She was born on October 25, 1940 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John J and Charlotte (Seastrand) Mellon. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1958 and went on to Graduate with her RN from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1960. She worked for Region 16 as a School Nurse at both Long River Middle School and Community School and as a Psychiatric Nurse at Waterbury Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 2016. Pat cherished spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed her times at the ocean and beach, along with her many trips to the Cape. Pat loved to host Christmas Eve dinner, make homemade lasagna and her mom’s famous chocolate cake for all of her family. She enjoyed to travel and going out with friends for dinner. She is survived by her sons, Brian Danaher and wife, Kim of Oakville and Mark Danaher and wife, Laurie of Cheshire, four grandchildren: Shawn, Dylan, Tegan and Emma Danaher, along with several nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by a sister Elaine Desmond of Watertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday June 19, 2020 at St. Anthony’ Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. When attending the Mass or burial, a mask must be worn, all CDC guidelines must be met, along with church and cemetery regulations. Burial will immediately follow at the New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is assisting the family with arrangements. We would like to thank Donna from Guardian Angels Homecare for her excellent care and companionship she provided our mom during her homecare.
