Obituary of John Honyotski

John Francis Honyotski, 82, of Prospect, passed away on September 11, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Harriett (Michel) Johnson for over 33 years.

He was born in Waterbury on December 20, 1935 son of the late Erving and Katherine (Schauster) Honyotski. After high school, he served in the National Guard and the Army where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He graduated from Quinnipiac with a BS in Business Administration. Prior to his retirement, John worked for Uniroyal Chemical for 46 years. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed serving as a Board Member for both Regency at Prospect and Copper Hill of Cheshire.

Besides his wife, John is survived by his children Deborah Honyotski of Cheshire, Judith Golia and husband Vincent of Southington, Daniel Honyotski and wife Luz of Clearwater, FL, James Honyotski and wife Dora of Toronto, ON, Jason Honyotski of Prospect, Jill Coté and husband Gil of Bolton, MA, Lynn Lippia and husband Marc of North Stonington, and Peter Whitten of Cheshire. He also leaves eight grandchildren Erica and Vincent Golia, Lauren, Rachel, Kelsey and Raegan Honyotski, Luc and Jocelyn Coté, a great grandson Caleb.

He leaves a sister Barbara Holstein of Cromwell and was predeceased by two brothers Erving and Joseph Honyotski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, September 14, 2018 at St Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Burial with Military Honors will be held at St. James Cemetery Naugatuck. Calling hours are from 9 –11 am on Friday at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
