Robert G. Berner passed peacefully at age 96 surrounded by his loving family on June 24, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife Vivian of 71 years and his daughters Adriane, Valerie and Charlotte, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Bob served as an Officer in the Air Transport Command in New Guinea during WWII, before graduating from Brooklyn Polytech with a Masters in Chemical Engineering. A Renaissance man with many interests, Bob was an avid hiker, sailor, tennis and bridge player. He loved Biblical archaeology, history, geology, reading and teaching. In addition, he was an accomplished wood-worker. Together with his wife, they travelled extensively in the US and Europe seeing all the places they had read about, and hiking all the National Parks in the US and Canada, as well as the Alps. His was a life well-lived.
To Bob, success was earning enough to provide for his family comfortably, but also having the time to enjoy his family. He will be sorely missed.
